Meetup Groups meet face-to-face to pursue hobbies, network, get support, make friends, find playgroups or even change the world.
Get on the Internet to get off the Internet!
You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
***IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, PLEASE RSVP TO THIS SITE, OR TO ME OR STEVEN. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE AUTISM ONE WEBSITE. WE HAVE SPECIAL TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR OUR GROUP MEMBERS.
I will need to get a set number and names of people to commit to attending and/or helping at the table. I don't have a deadline date yet, but I do need this info ASAP. I will try to announce when a deadline date is set.
Please RSVP for each day you plan to attend.
The other tracks of sessions besides adolescent/adult are biomedical, complimentary medicine, government/legal, and behavior/communication/education. People are free to attend any sessions they wish.
This conference has 2 preconference days on May 21 and 22, and 3 main conference days on May 23, 24 and 25. The table will be up on the the 3 main conference days, but people are welcome to attend any or all of the 5 days.
The pre-conference events are as follows:
Wed. May 21 : Mom's Health and Happiness from 8:00am-5:00pm. The Art of Cooking Special Diets (no exact time given)
Thurs. May 22: First Responders: Autism, Law Enforcement and Public Safety Training, 8am-3:30pm and Special Education Law Day for parents and professionals, 8am-5:30pm.
The main conference hours are 8am-6pm on Fri and Sat, and 8am to 1:30pm on Sun. These are the hours we will need people at the GRASP table. The morning people will need to arrive 30-60min. before the start of the conference to set up, and the evening people will need to be available up to 30min after the conference closes. Steven and Katie will try to be there as much as possible but we can't guarantee we'll be there all the time. During these times we will need at least 1 person at the table at all times.
There will also be an arts festival on the 3 main days, featuring both visual and performing arts. Last year's arts festival was quite impressive!
Much of the info at this conference, like most autism conferences is geared toward parents and professionals. However, there is an adolescent and adult track, and anyone may attend any of the other sessions(including the preconference sessions) to get ideas on information that can be adapted to your own individual needs. Plus, we would like to have a strong representation of GRASP and the adult autism community so everyone knows that we have needs, too!
More info please check the Autism One website at http://www.autismone....
Please let me (Katie) know if you have any other questions regarding tickets.
