Join us for an adventure at the zoo on Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Both adults on the spectrum and family and allies are welcome. Please meet the group at 1:00 PM at the Main Gate. Complete trip details below. Please RSVP by Friday, May 16 to [masked] so we know you're coming.
Zoo trip details:
COST: $15.00/adult. Call the Zoo at (410) 366-5466 for children's rates. Credit cards accepted. (Send an e-mail to [masked] if real cost issues exist)
PARKING/DIRECTIONS: Please park in lots A, B, or C for easiest access to the Main Gate. The zoo is undergoing construction so you may encounter detours and not all lots will be open. Parking is free. For directions, click http://www.marylandzo....
REFRESHMENTS & AMMENITIES: The Zoo has many food stands, but they only take cash. Some food outlets are air conditioned. There are also outdoor seating areas.
ACCESSIBILITY: Most of the Zoo is wheelchair accessible. For those with mobility issues or fatigue, the Zoo has a free tram. Please let the group know if you want to use the tram to get around.
SENSORY ACCOMMODATIONS: Please refrain from wearing strong perfume, cologne, or scented personal care products as strong scents make some people on the spectrum ill.
ACTIVITIES: On May 18, the Zoo is celebrating Daisy the Rhino's birthday. There may also be an opportunity to talk to Zoo keepers at some exhibits.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring a hat, sun glasses, sun screen, bug spray, and cash for food and drinks.
EMERGENCY CELL PHONE NUMBER: If you're going to be late but want us to wait for you, or if you get lost at the zoo, please call Jessica at [masked].
CARPOOL: If you can take someone in your car, or if you want to come but don't have a way to get to the zoo, please call Jessica at [masked] by Friday, May 16 to arrange carpools or taxi shares.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please call Jessica at [masked] if you have any other questions.
