ASPIES: The purpose of our group is for aspie adults to socialize with other aspie adults (18 and up, officially diagnosed or self diagnosed). Ours is a positive, accepting community. We do not seek a cure. At meetings we share experiences and ideas that range from the serious to the silly. We discuss our aspie strengths and challenges. We learn about each other and gain insight into ourselves. New members may invite a non-aspie family member or friend to accompany them, but they are welcome for only your first one or two meetings.
NON-ASPIES: Only aspies are invited to join. As indicated above, you may accompany an aspie for one or two meetings only. Beyond that, these meetings are for us to enjoy being exclusively in the company of other aspies. Please understand that these meetings afford us a wonderful, precious refuge. Do not ask to be an exception for the purpose of "sitting in," "observing," or "just asking a few questions." The privacy and feelings of members are important. We must be able to meet and discuss topics of our choosing without distraction or concern for being judged or misunderstood.
