This group is for adults with Asperger's Syndrome or high functioning Autism, as well as anyone who wants to meet people, socialize, and help others do the same. There is always support for parents with children who have Asperger's Syndrome or Autism, but few groups that help the adults with socializing and connecting. We want to have fun and enjoy what Erie has to offer together, as well as learn from each other.

I encourage you to join this support group if you, your child, family member, spouse, or a friend, have Asperger's Syndrome.  If you're someone who works regularly with children on the spectrum and wish to learn more, this is the group for you as well.  I'm the parent of two young adults (20 and 18) both of whom have Asperger's. I am creating this group to meet likeminded people in the Lorain/Elyria/Amherst area, or those who are willing to travel to the area. I have anxiety and social issues (possible Asperger's Syndrome) which keep me from being able to make friends and I have none near me. I am taking a big leap in starting this group.
